Global crisis in access to pain relief – launch of feature film

A multi-award-winning feature film, LIFE Before Death, highlights the global crisis in access to pain relief. The film follows the lives of patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals in 11 countries as they battle against the burden of pain. The film is being launched by non-profit organisations from 24 countries, including several in Europe. LIFE Before Death is part of a documentary series that includes 40 short films about the global crisis in untreated pain and the positive effects that palliative care services can bring to patients and their families. The project is presented by the Lien Foundation and produced by the Australian filmmakers Moonshine Movies; it is also supported by The International Association for the Study of Pain,  The Mayday Fund,  The Union for International Cancer Control and The Institute for Palliative Medicine at San Diego Hospice International Program.
