Liliana De Lima, Executive Director, International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care
About a year ago, my husband and stepdaughter (Enrique and Alejandra Ospina) decided to design and develop a campaign called Friends of IAHPC to raise awareness among friends and the non-medical community about hospice and palliative care, and about the
work that we do at the International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care (IAHPC). Enrique and Alejandra decided to do this based on conversations with their own friends and the realisation of how misinformed, or unaware, they are of what hospice and palliative care is.
The campaign is called Friends of IAHPC and includes a website that will be updated periodically by Enrique and Alejandra and by other IAHPC volunteers. The website includes reports about the IAHPC grantees, some of the films from the ‘LIFE Before Death’ project and news about hospice and palliative care in general.
A chance to contribute your news
If you would like to contribute to the content with news about hospice and palliative care for the non-medical community, please submit your stories and comments to Friends of IAHPC.
Enrique and Alejandra are donating their time and funds to support this campaign. All of us who work in this field are supported by the kindness, patience and generosity of our own families. I am humbled and extremely grateful for their efforts.
